MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the Punxsutawney Christian School is to provide a Christian based system of total education, to meet the spiritual, physical and mental needs of every student and to empower each student to be an independent, responsible, lifelong learner, cultivating to the highest potential, his or her individual, God-given gifts and talents in order to be a positive contributor to the spiritual body of believers in Jesus Christ and to society.
STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
- We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, the only infallible, the only authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is only one God, who has always been and will always be, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is through God that all things have come into being.
- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that all have sinned and need regeneration by the Holy Spirit in order to receive salvation.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Christian life.
- We believe in the resurrection of all mankind; the saved, through Jesus Christ, to eternal life and the lost to eternal damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual body of believers in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
- We believe God has created people as rational beings. Therefore, the education of individuals is foundational for developing them toward their fullest God-ordained potential.
- We believe that truth exists and that the quest for truth is the foundation of any educational program. This involves more than equipping the mind, but also includes shaping a child’s character and his or her view of the world.
- We believe the most important educators in a child’s life are his or her parents. We believe parents have the child’s best interest at heart and are usually the best equipped to guide the child’s learning experiences. Therefore, educational responsibility lies first with parents, then local school boards, then teachers, principals and administrators.
