History

In 1996, a group of Punxsutawney parents gathered together out of concern for a lack of spiritual educational opportunities in our area.  They decided that our community was in need of an educational alternative – a school that would glorify Christ and equip the next generation of leaders with the firm foundation of God’s Word.  Taking a gigantic step of faith, those parents formed the Punxsutawney Christian School.

Originally, the Punxsutawney Christian School was housed in the Sunday School classrooms of the Punxsutawney First Church of God, and only elementary classes were offered.  However, as student enrollment grew exponentially, it was clear that more space was needed, and that a high school program was in demand as well.

The Punxsutawney Christian School moved into the Weber building, its current location, in order to provide more space and a better educational experience for its students.  With our own building, we have been able to provide an efficient atmosphere for our students and staff. With the expansion of our program, we now provide an educational experience all the way from Preschool to 12th grade.  These great developments excite us for the future of PCS and its community of students, parents, and staff.
